Book Review: Because I am Furniture by: Thalia Chaltas

Wow. This story is so authentic and so very raw in its poetry. The main character is a child in a very abusive home and like the title says, she really treated as inadequate as a simple piece of furniture.

It is told in a poetic type free-verse, similar to Ellen Hopkins’ young adult novels, and so I would recommend it to fans of those style of stories. I find those types of books really easy to flow through and for some reason, help me to understand the entire story better.

Enjoy 🙂
