I’ll admit, most of my free time is spent scrolling through YouTube.
Sometimes mindlessly to simply pass the time, though a majority of the time, I’m watching endless BookTube videos, about which 90% of the time involve a TBR list.
I’ve never really been one to make a definite TBR list. I tried a few times while being in college (the old write down the names of books and stick ’em in a jar, shake the jar, and whatever title gets pulled from the jar is one of the month’s picks things) though that only lasted for a good couple of days.
I couldn’t even stick to those jar picks for the month!
It’s not that I don’t like to set monthly TBRs, (I could watch videos talking about them for hours) nor is the problem that I don’t like a little organization ( I do).
Simply put, I don’t set them because I don’t know what I’ll feel like reading during a particular month.
I think they’re fun to set, and it’s adorable to see a stack of perfectly picked out books all waiting to be read on your nightstand, though, for me, I just go with what I’m feeling book wise.
Who knows, maybe as I get older that’ll completely change. But, for now, I think I’ll stick to being unpredictable in the literary world.
A Few Books I’m Currently Reading:
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by JK Rowling
- Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
- Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness by Susannah Cahalan
Let me know: do you set TBRs? What are you currently reading?
