If you’ve been an avid fan of the Netflix original Jessica Jones, there’s zero doubt the name Krysten Ritter will have you smiling from ear to ear. Well, for fans of the web show as well as fans of psychological thrillers, we have some great news for you.
The 35 year old actress announced a few days ago that she will be releasing her debut novel, a mind-boggling thriller entitled Bonfire, later this November.
The novel will be published by Crown Archetype and follows a small-town environmental lawyer, Abby Williams, as she returns to her hometown and begins to investigate a well-known and powerful company, Optimal Plastics, in their involvement with excessive pollution and chemical dumping. However, as is the case with many psychological thrillers, Abby realizes she is in for way more than she bargained for when one of her old high school bullies is discovered to be missing. This leads our earth-loving protagonist into a much darker dimension of the town she grew up in and thought she knew so well.
It’s also awesome to know that Ritter has long been a fan of the suspense genre for as long as she can remember:
“As a huge fan of psychological suspense novels, I was so thrilled to take on the challenge of writing my first book… This was an exciting opportunity for me to explore a character journey and really get inside the head of my protagonist, a process that has a lot in common with how I prepare to play a role.”
