Review: Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood (#1) by Marjane Satrapi

I’ve really been on a graphic novel kick lately (suggest me some in the comments if you’d like. I’d appreciate it ☺️) and I’m happy that Persepolis was one that I picked up.

Marjane’s story of family and growing up in the midst of such hate and violence was nothing short of extraordinary for me as a reader.

I loved that the art was simple (black and white), and even though it was colorless, alongside the text, it really made the story that much more vivid. I’m hoping to order the second book pretty soon. I finished this one in a day and I believe that, honestly, most people will enjoy it.

5/5.
